Hi, I'm Sam. I grew up in Wisconsin where I did a number of sports and outdoor activities as a kid. I did my first marathon, triathlon, and bikepacking trips while living in China in my 20s. I got hooked on endurance sports and exploring the world on foot and bike. I am now based in DC and involved in the cycling, running, and triathlon communities in the mid-Atlantic. 

I love capturing people pushing themselves mentally and physically. The nervous moments before a race, the emotions and intense focus on athletes' faces during an event, and the post-race celebrations. The weekend warriors. The ordinary people who sit at a desk job during the week and squeeze in long hours of training, all to go out and do extraordinary things on the weekend.
